The perils of dancing

My back kinda aches a bit now. Today, Mr Peter Teo came back from his 2-month USA dance tour trip and as a treat, he gave us the "US special". Basically, we were subjected to very "interesting" exercises that made me shake and shiver so much that i think i could have rated 6.5 at least on the Richter scale.

As a dancer, the weakest points of my body are my back and my shoulder blades. The muscles there are very tight and that's why i can't do back flips or reverse arches, without feeling like i'm gonna snap into two like a kit-kat bar. And those stupid stiff shoulder blades can't seem to fully open... and even though i've been training to "kai jian" (translation: open shoulder), to the extent of asking Simin to help by pulling back my shoulders and using her feet to step on my back, so as to really PULL the damn thing, it still ain't opening too well.

Sigh. Oh well. Today was probably the last dance practice i will have for the rest of this year. I will TRY to keep stretching while overseas whenever i can...
