A win-win situation
Sometimes going out with your parents can be quite fun. Besides the fact that you spend time with them, more often or not they will be the ones paying for your expenses during that time. Well, this maybe sounds rather mercenary, but seriously, my mum for example, pays for me when we go out. But it's kinda like a win-win situation - spend time with mum, both of us enjoy the outing, expenses paid by her & she has company to go for events that she wants to go to.
My mum suddenly told me that she really wants to watch "Lord of the Dance" & though i wasn't really interested, but i figured that no loss in going. After all, the trailers did look exciting, although i wasn't sure if it was the kind of dance i'd enjoy. But if you don't try something new, you'll never know right? Plus, it's after my exams that we're going to watch it, so bring it on man. Best thing is, i really enjoy going for these kind of events & shows anyway. Love the whole process of getting ready for it (yes i'm bimbotic. hah), wearing something "nicer" & getting the chance to doll up somewhat, reveling in the atmosphere of whatever venue the event it is held at - see exhibits, photos, displays & lotsa lotsa interesting people. Yesh, the voyeuristic instinct is in my blood... to see & be seen as they say. Or as Foucault (if you remember, that sexy French man) conceptualizes it... the "gaze"... muahaha. Then of cos the show itself is the major treat itself...
Heh. Tomorrow evening gonna go for Ecnad's (a dance company - it's actually 'dance' spelt backwards! hee) "FireBall" event, "an explosion of artistic expression dedicated to dance, set ablaze at the resplendent Arts House between 20 April to 1 May 2005... Dance is the nucleus, drawing together more than 25 artists of various disciplines to pay tribute to this mesmerizing art form that has enthralled men and women since time immemorial... presented by Ecnad in conjunction with its 9th birthday celebrations" (http://www.ecnad.org/homecalendar.html). And the following weekend, it's Lord of the Dance! woo hoo...
But for now. I must study. Haven't been doing that cos i've totally lose the steam already. Need to recharge & chiong sua already loh!!! *WAR CRY*

Somehow, I think when you reach a certain age, you really like to spend time with your parents. Maybe it's really getting "old". You feel like you understand them better and even sometimes feel like them. I remember when I was "teenage-y" it's so embarrassing to be with my parents haha.
MY mom expects me to pay everytime we go out :P so you are very lucky. well, u not working wad... wait until you start bring in the bread.. eh hem, then you're parents would want a slice!
